easy now, easy. ease in

hullo.

I shall update.

Threaded my eyebrows today; a virgin experience. Painful, but it's very neat now. I guess it's worth it.

News, people, news. Come monday, miss ng revives. Guess where she will be this time. I'm not telling. haha. I'm not sure if I've consciously reported each of my previous schools anyway. Maybe unintentionally. If you were to click on the last faint grey button on the left hand side of this page, you'd find my archives. Many teacher posts there. Mostly between mid-jan till the mid-year. year two thousand and.. six? Could it have been so long ago? Has it been a year? But I have been a uni student for only.. a year. oh. I've been a uni student for a year already. How strange. oh stop musing.
So yes, point is, miss ng lives again. Report seven thirty on monday morning okay. Don't forget please. Remember also to get lip gloss. [sigh.]

That aside, I shall go on to another significant topic. Thank you to everybody who missed me while I was away. It is nice to be loved, and I think I am someone who appreciates love very, very much. So thanks for all the phone msgs to welcome me back, the picking me up at the airport, the phone calls, even the comments here and especially, the posts you put on your own blogs that I know were meant for me, even if they were written to "a certain someone who is far far away". haha.

till I write again, and with much love,

greetings

Dear friends and especially to the guardians of la-mnemymosnye,

Thank you very much for taking care of it for the past month. I just came home yesterday, and am still adjusting to the change in everything. Routine, people, and even faces and cityscape.

I have had a blessed time, and am missing everyone back in the philippines very much now. But of course, I am very glad to be physically back with the people I love, and who love me too.

So the burden of maintaining the blog is officially off your hands now; you are free once more. (: Thanks to glen, wayne, alethia, erica and even to my dear sab who tried so hard. ((:

I shall be with my thoughts for awhile.

Still yours, and with much love,
rachel

childhood left behind

To recall the times where we stumbled laughing across the carpet of the room with brown towels thrown over our shoulders, tripping over the long folds, but still holding head high up, in childish attempt to be like the grown ups who walk down the wedding aisle. We took turns, or did we not, to be the bride with the long train - brown flannel towels yet through the eyes of a child with excited imagination transform into white silk - and the groom waiting in front. I think rachel always wanted to be the groom, or something to that effect.

And we played house, under tables and chairs in the church office with the other girls, innocently pretending to have children, bringing them home. Squeals of delighted laughter could be heard from the office every Sunday around noon as we busied ourselves trying to be older. We got scolded once, for making too much noise. I remember being scolded, vividly, in the car journey home. But the plays continued, nothing could stop our imagination. Not even the grown ups.

Rachel always orchestrated our play. I remember her telling each person where to go, and i obeyed, meekly. For after all, she was a January child, i was a December kid. When you are aged less than the 10 fingers on your 2 hands, 11 months nearly a year, is as great as a century.

Now, nearly 10 years down, we are older, almost twice as old, and sadly wiser. Weddings take on new meaning. The prospect of children in homes too. Not too far away it seems, yet we push it further, not wanting to be drawn into the grown up world that is fast approaching, too fast.

A necessity? Perhaps. Aye, the circle of life.

And these frail humble broken words
tumble
like rough raw oranges into this pristine white space
to leave their imprint of a visit
and a lingering citrus scent when they leave.

Wait,
and more will arrive.
